Do you only do portraits + branding photography?
Artistic portraits for individuals + deep, rich, layered storytelling for brands is where I thrive. It’s why you feel the way you do looking at my imagery + it 100% feels like my lane.
If you have an idea that you think would align with my storytelling outside of these two genres, I’m certainly open to hearing about your idea. I am always happy to make a referral to another photographer / creative to help your story come to life as I no longer do weddings, family photos, or event style photography.
Do you do trades or collaborations for exposure?
Very rarely. While I will never say flat out no, I’m also incredibly protective about my time and ensuring this remains a business I'm passionate about. Being a photographer and creative director requires a ton of behind the scenes effort and energy - and I reserve that effort for the people who intrinsically and immediately understand the value of my skill-set.
Process
I like to schedule a call (or a meet up if you’re local to the Vancouver area) to make sure we’re the right fit for each other. During this call I’ll be asking a variety of prep questions about your vision, your timeline and your budget. Should we decide we’re the right fit for one another, I’ll be in touch with a summary of our call, a contract outlining the package you’ve chosen and what’s included, as well as costs. Once you’ve paid your deposit (50% of your overall fee), I hold that date for you. 50% of your session fee is due at contract signing to confirm your session date, and the remaining 50% is due 4 weeks prior to your session.
HOW DO I MAKE THIS A FLOW CHART?
Payment plans are available upon request and I offer membership packages to clients I’ve worked with in the past.
Why is your lead up time to a session 3 - 4 months?
The reason is so that we can take our time and get to the layers of your story to suss out the details, themes and concepts. Whether you’ll be appearing in your photos, or using models to tell the story of your brand, my style of storytelling requires a natural trust to build between us + time to let the details simmer. I'm a believer that we're all worthy of a production, and I want us to give yours the time and space to unfold.
What are your sessions like?
While the experience and details are different depending on if these will be personal photos or for brands, it's important to me that we both are investing in the experience of your session. I don’t limit my sessions to a specific amount of time - as I know some of us really need more time to sink into the experience than the standard session can allow. I will have scouted out a variety of locations for us to use, and through our chats leading up to your session, we will have finalized 2-3 locations - to be sure that when we show up the day of - it feels right to the both of us.
My sessions happen during the weekdays (to avoid crowds and any traffic delays), and all personal sessions involve using my dresses from my client closet (that fit a variety of body shapes and sizes), and I’m always happy to help coordinate hair and makeup with some trusted locals, if that’s your thing. Together we’ll
Do I have to get prints?
Print credits are a part of all my portrait session packages and I wholeheartedly believe in having a tangible reminder of the day you choose you. I work exclusively with two printers - one in Italy and one in North America - to ensure the quality and curated offerings meet my expectations of handcrafted and artisan paper products. If digital is all youre looking for at this time, we can use the print credit to increase the amount of digital downloads you get in your package.
A brand has reached out and wants to use my photo for their website. What do I say?
I want to use a local brand in my session, can i promise them use of my photos in exchange for some goods?
A friend wants to come along on the session, is that ok?
I also run a business, can I use these for promotional materials like social media, brochures and my website?
